JUNG JI-YOON SCORED 17 POINTS, DEFEATED HYUNDAI ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION KGC FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE CUP COMPETITION
It was like the number one favorite. Women’s volleyball Hyundai Engineering & Construction defeated KGC Ginseng Corporation in the first game of the cup tournament with Jung Ji-yoon’s performance.
Hyundai Engineering & Construction won 3-0 (25-22, 30-28, 25-19) in the first Group A match of the 2023 Gumi-Dodram Cup professional volleyball tournament held at Gumi Park Chung-hee Gymnasium on the 29th.
Hyundai Engineering & Construction overtook Korea Expressway Corporation (one win) in terms of set gains and losses.
Jung Ji-yoon scored 17 points, the most in both teams. Lee Da-hyun scored 13 points as he caught five blocks.
Hyundai Engineering & Construction has fully operated its best members. Three veteran players, Yang Hyo-jin, Hwang Yeon-ju, and Kim Yeon-kyeon, were all included in the starting lineup, while national trio Kim Da-in, Lee Da-hyun and Jung Ji-yoon were also included.
Kim Joo-hyang, who returned as Hwang Min-kyung’s FA compensation player, was put in one of the outside heaters. Hyundai Engineering & Construction coach Kang Sung-hyung said, “It’s a competition, so my goal is to win.”
The players went to the national team, and there were many injured players, but I prepared hard,” he said.
