Shin Shin-seo donates 10 million won to underprivileged children

South Korean Go czar Shin Shin-seo, 23, has made a donation to help underprivileged children.

Shin delivered 10 million won to the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation to be used for underprivileged children, according to the Korea Go Foundation on Thursday.

“I had a lot of good things happen to me personally this year, such as winning the NgCB, which I had been praying for, but it wouldn’t have been easy without the love of my fans,” said Shin Shin-seo, who is enjoying his best season yet, surpassing 100 wins for the first time in a year. “I decided to make a donation to repay the love I received from my fans,” he said.

He also said, “I hope that my young friends will not lose their dreams and move forward despite the difficult environment.”

Since winning his first world title at the 2020 LG Go Championship, Shin has been making donations to the go community and those in need every year.

In February 2020, he donated 10 million won ($9,000) for the recovery from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and 5 million won for scholarships for research students; in July of the same year, he donated 10 million won for underprivileged children; and in December, he donated 20 million won for local scholarships and 5 million won for scholarships for research students to Namhae Army.

In September 2021, he donated 5 million won to a scholarship for fostering go dreamers, and in March 2022, he donated 5 million won each to Hapcheon County and Namhae Army.

In addition, in January this year, he donated 5 million won in scholarships to the Busan Go Association in his hometown, totaling more than 80 million won over four years. 파워볼사이트
