Scary Doosan bats win 4th straight game over SSG…

The Doosan Bears rode their bats to a dominating victory over the SSG Landers, who featured homegrown ace Kim Kwang-hyun.

Doosan extended its winning streak to four games with a 10-1 victory over visiting SSG in the Korea Baseball Organization 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on Friday.

After scoring a combined 25 runs in the three-game series against the Kiwoom Heroes, Doosan’s bats were on fire again.

With the score tied at 0-0 in the top of the first inning, Doosan put runners on first and second with no outs after leadoff hitter Kim Tae-geun doubled down the left field line and Kim Jae-ho singled to shortstop.

Jose Rojas followed with a single, but Kim scored from third to give Doosan the lead.

Doosan rattled Kim Kwang-hyun in the third inning. With the bases loaded and one out, Cho stole second and advanced to third when the opposing catcher, Cho Hyung-woo, missed the ball.

In the process of sliding, the base was pulled out of the ground, but the safe call was not changed.

Kim Kwang-hyun began to falter. The next batter, Kim Tae-geun, took advantage of the opportunity and hit a clean single to left field.

Doosan took advantage of the 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning to take the lead for good.

Starting with the leadoff hitter Rojas, Yang Ji, Yang Seok-hwan, Kang Seung-ho, and Heo Kyung-min hit five consecutive singles to make it 6-0.

In the bottom of the inning, Cho Sung-hyun drove in another run with a sacrifice fly.

The game remained close. SSG replaced Kim Kwang-hyun, who threw 61 pitches in the fifth inning, and raised the white flag in the seventh inning with infielders Park Sung-hyun, Choi Jung and Choi Ju-hwan.

Doosan turned up the heat on offense in the bottom of the eighth, scoring three more runs.

Doosan starter Kwak-Bin Kwak earned his 10th win of the season (6-0) with eight innings of four-hit ball, three walks and five strikeouts.

It was his first double-digit win in his professional career and first time going eight innings in a game.

At the plate, leadoff hitter Kim Tae-geun went 2-for-5 with a double, one RBI and one run scored.

SSG starter Kim Kwang-hyun took the loss after allowing seven runs (six earned) on nine hits with one walk and one strikeout in four innings. 파워볼사이트
