Gateway to Attend Delta Chamber of Commerce’s Luncheon
Speakers from Canada’s biggest private casino operator Gateway Casinos & Entertainment (“Gateway”) and B.C. Lottery Corporation are to provide more detailed information regarding Gateway’s $70-million casino project in Ladner to be located on the current Town & Country Inn site. Apart from that, the speakers are to present their vision for the future development of the local gambling industry.
According to reliable sources, the guest speakers are to attend the Delta Chamber of Commerce’s next luncheon, that is to take place on 24th January from 11:30 am local time. Delta Town & Country Inn is to play host to the upcoming event. To attend the event, the members will be charged a $35 fee, while the non-members need to pay an entry fee of $45. It is interesting to note that Delta Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization that aims at establishing a favorable environment for the successful operation of local business entities. The organization represents business owners and supports business growth and development.
In the meanwhile, Gateway is to hold another public information session on 18th January. Delta residents will have a good chance to get accurate information straight from the source. Late last year, Gateway Casinos held two public information sessions at the open house at the Tsawwassen Springs Clubhouse. The City of Delta also held its own public consultations in order to hear people’s opinion on the matter.
In September last year, B.C. Lottery Corporation gave preliminary approval for the casino development at Town & Country Inn. The topic did not drop off the radar for quite some time, as the proposed entertainment complex in Ladner is in close proximity to Richmond’s River Rock Casino.
A Quick Look at Gateway’s Multi-Million Construction Investment
Gateway already released renderings of Delta’s proposed casino, offering an exclusive look behind the curtains. The gambling facility is to spread over 10.8 acres and 9 of which will be occupied by parking lots and the building for the proposed development. The other 1.8 acres will be occupied by green space.
The entertainment complex is to offer a number of gambling and non-gambling entertainments under one roof. The future complex is to offer also accommodation facility, and more precisely a five-story hotel with 116 rooms. Apart from that, the full-fledged entertainment venue is to offer meeting facilities and two dining areas, including Gateway’s most recognizable brand Match.
The gaming floor is to feature 600 slot machines and 24 gaming tables. It is important to note that BCLC explained that the number of the gaming tables and the slot machines is flexible as the corporation need to analyze the market and determine “the appropriate gaming device count and product mix”.
Gateway’s proposed entertainment complex is to bring broad economic benefits. The gambling operator announced that the project is to decrease the unemployment rate, bringing up to 700 new permanent jobs and 500 temporary construction jobs.
