LG’s Yi Kyung-yup thanks fans after escaping a four-game losing streak
LG Twins manager Yoon Kyung-yeop expressed his gratitude to his players for their efforts in snapping a four-game losing streak.
LG won the first game of a three-game weekend series against the Lotte Giants of the 2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League 5-3 on Thursday at Jamsil Stadium. With the win, the team snapped a four-game losing streak. The team now has a season record of 39 wins, two draws, and 29 losses.
LG fell behind early in the first inning, but battled back to earn a valuable victory. Starting pitcher Dietrich Enns gave up an RBI double to Victor Reyes in the top of the first inning and then shut down the opposition, except for a solo shot to Jung Hoon in the top of the fourth. His final line was six innings, five hits (one homer), four walks, one strikeout, and three runs. He improved to 8-2 on the season with a quality start (6 starts with 3 earned runs or less).
At the plate, Park Hae-min shined. With LG down 0-2 in the bottom of the second inning, he hit a two-run triple to right-center field to cut the deficit to 3-2. Shin Min-jae followed with an RBI single to make it 4-2.
The game remained scoreless and rather frustrating. The Enns cut the deficit to 4-3 in the top of the fourth inning on a solo shot by Jung Hoon. They then had runners on second and third in the top of the seventh and first and third in the top of the eighth, but relievers Kim Jin-sung and Yoo Young-chan were able to get out of the jam.
LG secured the victory with a single run in the bottom of the eighth inning. Moon Bo-kyung hit a 105-meter solo shot (his eighth of the season) over the left field fence for the 5-3 victory.
LG’s starting rotation of Kim Jin-sung (1 inning of scoreless relief/hold), Lee Ji-gang (⅓ inning of scoreless relief/hold), and Yoo Young-chan (1⅔ innings of scoreless relief/save) followed to secure the win.
At the plate, Hae-min hit the game-winning triple and 먹튀검증 Moon Bok-kyung hit a home run to spark the offense.
“Enns did his job as a starter,” said Yeom after the game. It was a difficult game with no runs scored, but our pitching staff of Kim Jin-sung and Yoo Young-chan did a great job to keep us out of difficult situations to end the losing streak. “In the batting circle, Park Hae-min’s triple in the bottom of the second inning allowed us to turn the tide and bring the game to a close, and when we needed an extra run in the eighth inning, Moon Bo-kyung hit a home run to make it easier for Yoo Young-chan to pitch in the top of the ninth,” said the manager.
LG had recently lost four straight games, but the home fans filled the stadium to show their support for the team. Coach Yeom thanked the fans, saying, “Thanks to the enthusiastic support of many fans who came to the stadium today (14th), we were able to overcome difficult situations and win the game. Thank you for your enthusiastic support.”
After sweeping the three-game series over the weekend, LG will play the remaining two games on bullpen day due to the absence of domestic starters Lim Chan-kyu and 메이저사이트 Choi Won-tae.
